Lucy has been in the restaurant business
most of her life. Anguillan born, Lucy spent part of her young life
on St. Maarten working in the industry after school. After returning
to Anguilla Lucy opened her first restaurant. She sold it many years
later. It is now known as the Overlook Restaurant. But Lucy did not leave
the business, she opened Lucy's at Long Bay.
The decor is beautifully Caribbean inside and out. Murals full of color adorn the entrance and exquisite oil paintings cover the walls of the interior. The atmosphere and people are very warm and friendly, it's a wonderful dining experience.
Brett and I had heard about Lucy's from our friends Ambrose and Paula Fleming. Ambrose and Paula had celebrated their anniversary at Lucy's and gave her restaurant rave reviews. So we decided to take a drive and check it out for ourselves....They were absolutely right! The food was absolutely fabulous!
For an appetizer we started with the conch fritters. Fried to perfection with just the right amount of conch. They were not tough, they practically melted in your mouth.
As always I would never pass up a lobster. For our entrees Brett chose the steak smothered in mushroom gravy with freash vegetables. Of course, I had the lobster. Both were fabulous! The lobster was grilled with garlic and butter and was cooked to absolute perfection. We agree that Lucy's Restaurant is a must!
