At
the east end of Anguilla you will find a remote beach on Savannah
Bay in an area called Junk's Hole. This is the home of Palm Grove
beach side Bar and Grill.

Palm
Grove Beach Bar and Grill, a.k.a. Nat's Place, has been at Junks Hole
for many years, but not without a disturbance from nature.
Nat's Place was level in 1999 by hurricane Lenny. Nat Richardson
and his wife Ethne are the owners of this establishment. You can't
keep a good man down. Nat together with friends and family got started
picking up the pieces right away and again Palm Grove was back in business.
Lucky for us!

It may not look like much but that's what is so
interesting about these isolated great finds. Palm Grove serves fabulous
ribs and the best Johnny Cakes on the Island.

While you're there you can relax on the beach on Savannah
Bay. It's perfect for an afternoon picnic, a walk or jog on the beach,
swimming a few laps and even snorkeling. It's never crowded and is
very peaceful.

While there, you will notice
there are lots of little holes in the sand. Being from New England my
first thought was, they must be clam holes. Nope! While hanging out on
the beach, enjoying Nat's cocktails and food, I discovered something
very cool. As the sun begins to cool around 4:00 in the afternoon you
see little crabs emerging from the holes.
No fear, they are harmless. It's really
very cool to watch. At first I was afraid I was going to be in a 'Twilight
Zone' episode or something. It didn't take long to see they had absolutely
no interest in me. In fact, if I moved a muscle, they quickly went
back to their homes below the sand.
So check out Palm Grove at Junk's Hole and
Savannah Bay's beautiful beach, you won't be disappointed.
